We are seeking a Pega Developer to configure, test, document, and support workflow capabilities for an enterprise Department of Veterans Affairs Pega Cloud modernization effort. Working from approved user stories, designs, and architecture guardrails, this role delivers reusable case-management functionality, resolves defects, and participates throughout the Agile development and release lifecycle.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Configure Pega case types, stages, workflows, routing, rules, validations, calculations, correspondence, and service levels.
· Build and maintain data types, data pages, user-interface components, reports, dashboards, and role-based application behavior.
· Implement integrations and data mappings under the guidance of architects and data/integration engineers.
· Follow configuration-first practices, Pega guardrails, reusable design patterns, naming standards, version control, and documentation requirements.
· Develop and execute unit tests and support functional, integration, regression, accessibility, and performance testing.
· Analyze and correct defects involving workflows, rules, data, reports, interfaces, security, or user experience.
· Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demonstrations, retrospectives, and release activities.
· Collaborate with analysts, architects, developers, testers, trainers, and support personnel to clarify behavior and complete stories.
· Support deployment validation, production stabilization, approved enhancements, and onboarding of additional user communities.
· Maintain implementation notes, configuration rationale, test evidence, and knowledge-base content.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· 3+ years of software, low-code, or enterprise application development experience, including 2+ years of hands-on Pega development or configuration experience.
· Working knowledge of Pega case management, workflows, rules, data pages, user-interface configuration, reports, and security concepts.
· Experience implementing user stories and acceptance criteria in an Agile delivery environment.
· Understanding of configuration management, version control, unit testing, defect tracking, and release practices.
· Basic knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, data mapping, and integration concepts.
· Ability to troubleshoot configuration and application behavior using logs, test evidence, and Pega tools.
· Strong attention to detail, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional, client-facing delivery team.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
· Pega Certified System Architect certification is preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
· Experience with Pega Cloud, App Studio, Dev Studio, PegaUnit, Scenario Testing, or Deployment Manager.
· Experience in Federal, financial, acquisition, health, or another regulated environment; VA experience is optional.
· Familiarity with Section 508, role-based access, audit history, enterprise reporting, or workflow modernization.
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and experience.
CLEARANCE:
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
