This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will operate machine shop equipment (e.g., drill presses, shapers, bench grinders, power hacksaws) to complete marine machinery repairs.
- You will detect and correct malfunctions in marine machinery using measuring devices and test equipment.
- You will work in partnership with key management personnel to provide status and resolve work problems.
- You will determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to assist with marine machinery repairs.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. Yearly physical is required.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- The incumbent may be required to apply for and obtain a forklift license up to 3 ton (6,000# capacity).
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- Employee may be required to become Facility Response Team (FRT) qualified.
- Some travel is required to various worksites to perform maintenance and repair.
- Mandatory training is required by some engine companies in order to be qualified to perform warranty work on various gasoline and/or diesel engines.
