Data Analyst - OPNAV N98

Synchron, LLC has an exciting opportunity to support the U.S. Navy's OPNAV Organization at N98 (Air Warfare) there you will provide support to the Director and Deputy Director of Air Warfare with strategic data management and business process improvement. Serving in an analytical and engineering capacity, the contractor will assist in managing and integrating data platforms to support organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and maintaining a data cluster utilizing Databricks to support current and future workflows.
• Support the integration and combination of multiple databases utilizing the War Data Platform.
• Help build, maintain, and monitor ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines, ensuring data integrity and actively preventing the creation of false relationships between disparate databases.
• Resolve legacy database issues (storage/usability) by cleaning data and maturing workflows under the guidance of senior team members.
• Assist in the optimization of documents, communication, and artifact flow throughout the organization.
• Support the exploration and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Large Language Model (LLM) integrations and agentic workflows to automate routine data processes and enhance organizational capabilities.
• Explore new or assess known technologies to solve specific data-related problems encountered by the customer, demonstrating a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
• Support the creation of shareable databases for broader internal use, manage restricted external access, and ensure data elements are properly tagged/categorized for quick data pulls.
• Manage assigned tasks across multiple projects at one time with competing schedules.
• Must have strong written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to document database requirements and help standardize the inflow and outflow of Naval Aviation data with external organizations.
• Coordinate and liaison within N9 and OPNAV agencies to streamline data processes and build consensus on basic data architecture decisions.

Education and Experience

• U.S. Citizen
• DoD SECRET Clearance
• 3+ years of professional experience (or equivalent academic background/certifications) in Data Engineering, Database Administration, or Knowledge Management.
• Fundamental understanding of ETL pipelines, relational databases, and data manipulation techniques.
• Demonstrated experience or a strong eagerness to learn about AI/LLM integrations, agentic workflow creation, and modern automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with Cloud Services, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Business Optimization Tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of or exposure to Databricks and/or War Data Platform.
• PPBE experience at OPNAV or equivalent level (Echelon I).

Work Location: Pentagon, Arlington, VA. Routine Telework is not allowed for this position; Situational Telework may be granted dependent on workload and circumstances.
