Job Summary
Performs a variety of duties in composite development and experimental prototype fabrication and assembly. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains composite-related equipment, tooling, and prototype components. Works from composite lay-up schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions. Operates specialized fabrication equipment, conducts experimental builds, tests, and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares custom resin systems, hardeners, and curing solutions.

Note: This position is focused on composite development and experimental prototype fabrication and does not include technicians working in production or quality assurance environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform composite development and experimental prototype fabrication and assembly activities.
- Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain composite-related equipment, tooling, and prototype components.
- Interpret and work from composite lay-up schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
- Operate specialized fabrication equipment and tooling.
- Conduct experimental prototype builds and testing activities.
- Collect, document, and report test results and related data in the prescribed format.
- Perform calibration and alignment checks on equipment and tooling.
- Make adjustments, modifications, and component replacements as directed.
- Prepare custom resin systems, hardeners, and curing solutions.
- Maintain compliance with established safety and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Experience related to composite fabrication.
- Experience using fabrication-related tooling and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and composite lay-up schematics.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
