Blue Rose Consulting Group is seeking an Appian Security Business Analyst to support Department of State and the security assessment and testing of a new software deployment.
This position is full-time-Onsite. The selected candidate will work with development and security personnel to identify potential security shortcomings, plan corrective actions, and verify that implemented solutions resolve identified security gaps.

What You'll Do
- Evaluate a new software deployment to identify potential cybersecurity shortcomings and security gaps.
- Collaborate with developers to analyze identified issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Develop remediation plans in coordination with technical team members.
- Create and execute tests to evaluate security-related software changes.
- Confirm that implemented development solutions resolve identified security gaps.
- Translate cybersecurity terminology and complex security concerns into understandable testing requirements.
- Document testing activities, results, identified issues, and remediation outcomes.
- Support security assessments using cybersecurity fundamentals and operational security knowledge.
- Participate in Agile testing, issue resolution, and solution-validation activities.
- Active Secret clearance required.
- Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity.
- Intermediate proficiency in cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Intermediate proficiency in cybersecurity assessment.
- Intermediate proficiency in cybersecurity operations.
- Strong software testing and solution-validation skills.
- Ability to understand cybersecurity terminology and complex security issues.
- Ability to work closely with developers to identify, remediate, and retest security gaps.
- Located in or near the Washington, D.C. area.
- Background in software testing fundamentals.
- Experience working with Agile processes and procedures.
