CLASSIFICATION: Manager, Range Support Section; Salary

GRADE: Exempt; Regular, Full-Time

LOCATION : Range Services Eglin AFB, FL

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position is responsible for Fabrication & Installation, Survey and Range Services consisting of up to 60 employees. Responsible for providing leadership, management and administration of discipline of employees in accordance with company policies as well as the collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Machinists (IAM). A large amount of time will be spent working with the Range Services technical Leads assisting in the support of direct support missions, operations and maintenance. The essential job functions include meeting with customers and/or other their representatives to plan/coordinate mission requirements; providing guidance to employees and supervisors; and coordinating with other branches and/or departments on technical, test support, and managerial matters. Assigns incoming tasks and coordinates task support to meet mission requirements. Monitors tasks for compliance with all requirements, including cost and deadline. Effectively utilizes available resources to accomplish missions. Represents the company at meetings with outside agencies. Participate in various meetings as needed or required.

GENERAL DUTIES:
  • This position requires good analytical skills and familiarity with specialized computer applications.

  • Implements policies and procedures; recommend improvements in operations, testing and/or maintenance methods; equipment operating procedures and working conditions.
  • Manages site performance measures and provides regular progress reports to management.
  • Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes and enforces company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement; and is responsible for all other duties as assigned.
  • This position will interface with range schedulers, project coordinators, and members of management.
  • Knowledge of the PIMS Service Order module required, to include writing work orders and performing estimates.
  • Must have experience in writing statements of work and requests for proposals to outside vendors.
  • Develop program schedules; track program progress against schedule and evaluate cost performance.


Job Requirements

OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job related areas. Travel for TDY, minimal 10%, is required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a BS or BA degree and three years proven supervisory experience or, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 10 years of supervisory experience and an Associate's degree. Proven leadership and management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills; above average commercial computer software skills are required. Should have strong experience in co-utilizing employees outside of their carrier field to get missions supported when scheduled. Will need to be very familiar with CSE and all functions involving missions. Generate updates and maintain computer databases. Must be familiar with writing performance standards related to creation of requests for proposals (RFP), soliciting competitive bids, bid selection standards, and formal contract requirements.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Must meet requirements to operate in enhanced security environments. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company quality, safety, environmental, security and administrative policies; supports process improvements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Most duties will be performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and requires some lifting or moving of objects. Must be capable of sitting, walking, and standing.
