Storage Engineer (Cohesity) - Secret Clearance Required
Location: Must reside near Oklahoma City, OK; Ogden, UT; Mechanicsburg, PA; or Montgomery, AL
Travel: Up to 25%
Pay Rate: $65-$75/hour
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship Required

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Storage Engineer with deep expertise in Cohesity data protection platforms to support a mission-critical enterprise environment. This role focuses on backup and recovery architecture, disaster recovery planning, storage platform administration, security compliance, and VMware data protection operations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Cohesity clusters, developing enterprise backup strategies, supporting federal security requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional infrastructure teams.

What You'll Do
• Administer and support Cohesity DataProtect, Data Cloud, Helios, SmartFiles, and cluster environments
• Design and maintain enterprise backup, retention, recovery, and cyber recovery strategies
• Develop and execute disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity processes
• Create and maintain recovery runbooks, operational procedures, and technical documentation
• Manage and protect VMware environments, including vCenter and ESXi platforms
• Perform backup, restore, snapshot, and protection group administration
• Integrate Cohesity solutions with Active Directory, DNS, NTP, authentication services, and networking infrastructure
• Develop automation and integrations using REST APIs and scripting tools
• Support integrations with orchestration and IT service management platforms
• Troubleshoot backup, storage, networking, and recovery issues across enterprise environments
• Assist with security compliance initiatives, audits, and accreditation activities
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams during recovery and restoration efforts
• Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and customer-facing support

Required Qualifications
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship
• Strong experience with:
○ Cohesity DataProtect
○ Data Cloud
○ Helios
○ SmartFiles
○ Cohesity cluster administration
• Experience designing and operating enterprise backup and recovery solutions
• Disaster recovery and business continuity planning experience
• Strong VMware administration knowledge including:
○ vCenter
○ ESXi
○ VM backup and restore operations
○ Snapshot management
○ Protection groups
• Experience with storage, backup, and cloud data protection technologies
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals including:
○ TCP/IP
○ DNS
○ Routing
○ Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience with REST APIs, automation, and scripting
• Ability to create technical documentation, recovery procedures, and operational runbooks
• Experience supporting regulated or federal environments
• Understanding of:
○ RMF (Risk Management Framework)
○ ATO (Authority to Operate)
○ STIG/SRG compliance
○ Federal security controls

Preferred Qualifications
• Linux administration experience
• PKI authentication implementation and support
• FIPS compliance experience
• Experience integrating backup platforms with enterprise security tools
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud storage and object storage repositories
• Familiarity with orchestration platforms and ITSM solutions such as ServiceNow
