Job Description

Job Title: Systems Engineer III
Job Type: 12 Month Contract (Potential Contract-to-Hire or Extension)
Location: San Diego, CA
Pay Rate: $60–$65/hour

Other: Active Secret Security Clearance required

Responsibilities
• Lead systems engineering, hardware, and software analysis supporting the Navy's Key Management projects.
• Define and implement systems engineering processes to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Manage system requirements, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation.
• Develop System Architecture, CONOPS (Concept of Operations), and use cases utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
• Lead and participate in customer meetings, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and working groups.
• Research, write, review, and maintain technical documentation, including:
o Technical manuals
o Design specifications
o Interface Requirement Specifications (IRS)
o User guides
o Reference manuals
o Installation guides
o Data sheets
• Develop project briefing materials and technical presentations as needed.
• Support system design, integration, testing, deployment, and fielding activities.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance required
• Experience with requirements decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation.
• Proven ability to analyze risks, resolve uncertainties, and guide projects through established engineering processes.
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
• Experience with database management systems such as:
o MySQL
o Oracle RDBMS
o Microsoft SQL Server
• Familiarity with Linux and UNIX operating systems.
• Understanding of complex system development methodologies.
• Experience developing technical documentation.
• Knowledge of software design patterns.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Software development and/or shell scripting experience.
• Strong scripting skills with languages such as:
o Python
o Perl
o Ruby
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP and OSI models.
