Logistics Management Specialist

Duties

• Plan, coordinate and evaluate actions required to support the weapon systems and ammunition programs within the business areas of Multiple Launch Rocket System Family of Munitions (MFOM), and Interservice Missiles (ISM).
• Plan, coordinate and evaluate actions required to support the weapon systems and ammunition programs within the business areas of Demilitarization (including reuse, recovery, reclamation, and resale) of munitions.
• Review and analyze production problems.
• Identify and implement studies or projects involving mission changes, technological advances, etc.
• Plan, schedule, review, forecast workload, and adjust production programs using the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP).
• Develop project and program cost estimates.
• Develop operational marketing plans for the organization.
• Coordinate CONUS and OCONUS maintenance trips in support of assigned projects.

• Must meet ammunition certification requirements IAW AMC-R 350-4 within one year of appointment.

FOR GS-09

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting specialists in the evaluation of various munition and missile maintenance and demilitarization projects, research logistic management guidelines, and evaluation of information gathered surrounding supply, transportation, budget funding and/or storage. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management or Logistics.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOR GS-11

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring an organizational logistics program and analyzing production problems in order to provide solutions for areas needing improvement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Supply Chain Management or Logistics.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOR GS-12

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes operating within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, managing an organizational logistics program and analyzing production problems in order to provide solutions for areas needing improvement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.

Education
