The position requires overtime, shift, weekend, holiday work, and/or rotating shifts.

- You will lead workers to accomplish trade and labor work to effectively carry out the duties of the working leader by applying sufficient skill and knowledge of the trades.
- You will assist in the operation and maintenance of secondary and/or advanced wastewater treatment facilities.
- You will verify and assist in proper collection of wastewater and sludge samples from the various unit processes for laboratory analyses.
- You will participate in the site safety program and make sure all safety SOP's, guidelines and directives are followed.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Heaviest weight handled is the centrifuge roll off weighing over 5 tons with use of forklift. Ability to carry weights up to 50 pounds for a distance of 40 to 50 feet. Work requires kneeling, stooping, and climbing. Works from ladder and in pits.
- You will be subject to random drug testing.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a Grade 4 Hawaii Operator License;
- Ability to operate a grade 4 wastewater treatment plant;
- Ability to lead other wastewater treatment plant operators;
- Ability to follow, develop and/or implement verbal and written directives;
- Ability to explain instructions of equipment operation and maintenance manuals and schedules;
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Ability to lead others by assuring that all work assignments are carried out, improving trade processes, inspecting work, identifying deficiencies and implementing corrective actions.
