Job Description

Responsibilities

Coach and support Firmware/FPGA staff to ensure individual and team success; support goal setting and objective definition to create development plans and oversee the performance assessment process
Translate system and program requirements into clear engineering tasks, priorities, schedules, assignments, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes
Monitor execution, balance workload, remove barriers, manage risks, and drive corrective actions to meet commitments
Provide clear status to senior leadership regarding schedule, risks, blockers, staffing needs, and delivery forecasts
Drive cross-functional coordination with hardware, software, project engineering, program management, and manufacturing to align requirements, interfaces, priorities, and handoffs

Qualifications

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline with 10 or more years of relevant Firmware, FPGA, embedded systems, or digital design experience
Experience leading, supervising, or managing Firmware, FPGA, digital design, or cross-functional engineering teams
Proven ability to translate high-level requirements into task plans, priorities, milestones, acceptance criteria, and measurable deliverables
Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, delegation, accountability, feedback, development, and workload balancing
Experience with engineering planning, schedule tracking, risk management, status reporting, resource planning, and cross-functional coordination
Technical credibility in FPGA, firmware, embedded systems, hardware/software interfaces, integration, debug, and release processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate priorities, status, risks, staffing needs, and recommendations to leadership
Some travel will be required
Selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance issued by the U.S. Government throughout the course of their employment.
