Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Field Service Representative to support a federal program located in San Diego, CA with domestic and international travel up to 75% . The Field Service Representative will provide hands-on technical support for the integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of networked communication systems supporting military operations. The role works closely with DoD end users, engineers, and program teams to troubleshoot systems, execute field testing, and maintain secure network environments.
Responsibilities of the Field Service Representative include:
· Provide on-site technical support for podded communication systems and mission-critical network infrastructure
· Support live field testing activities and serve as a technical liaison to military units and operational stakeholders
· Develop and maintain test plans, technical procedures, troubleshooting guides, and configuration documentation
· Install, configure, and administer Windows and Linux servers, virtualized environments, and enterprise services
· Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot network equipment including switches, servers, and firewalls
· Configure and maintain DNS, Active Directory, Exchange, and related network services
· Conduct system and subsystem testing and provide technical feedback on system, network, and test documentation
Qualifications for the Field Service Representative include:
· 4+ years of experience in testing, networking, systems administration, or related IT disciplines
· Experience supporting military communications systems and Department of Defense environments
· Familiarity with Tactical Data Links including CDL, TTNT, Link-16, SADL, or related technologies
· Knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, LAN/WAN architectures, IP subnetting, and network protocols
· Experience with network security technologies including firewalls, IDS, IPS, and NGFW solutions
· Proficiency administering both Linux and Windows operating systems and supporting virtualized environments
· Active Secret Clearance
Compensation for the Field Service Representative includes:
· Salary Range: $100,000 - $145,000 based on experience
