Public Health Manager / Public Health Technician

Seeking Public Health Manager / Public Health Technician for U.S. Government Support - Iraq (Baghdad & Erbil)

Cherokee Federal is recruiting experienced Public Health Manager / Public Health Technician to support U.S. government medical operations in Iraq. Provide public-health oversight, inspection, outbreak response, disease surveillance, occupational-health reporting, health education, and environmental-health support at Baghdad and Erbil. ** Secret Clearance Is Preferred Or ability to obtain required clearance for the role

** Per contract, candidate required to work more than 10 hours as regular shift / Overtime hours / holidays and weekends

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen and possess active U.S Passport to qualify.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range: Pay commensurate with experience.

Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee public health requirements for food and public facilities.
  • Inspect food deliveries, food service and storage facilities, bottled water, MREs, AAFES facilities, bars and kitchens, barber shops, salons, water-purification units, and recreation facilities.
  • Review inspections for compliance.
  • Confirm food-handler training and medical requirements.
  • Report significant findings within 12 hours.
  • Respond to and investigate foodborne-illness outbreaks.
  • Develop inspection SOPs.
  • Track occupational injuries and disease trends.
  • Conduct patient tracing.
  • Track blood-borne pathogens.
  • Publish heat-index alerts twice daily during summer.
  • Develop disease-prevention, needle-stick-exposure, and health-education programs.
  • Provide guidance to DOS and other contractors.

Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

Required Qualifications
  • 3 years' experience in the applicable Public Health Manager or Public Health Technician.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Food-safety inspection experience Is preferred
  • Environmental health experience Is preferred
  • Outbreak investigation experience Is preferred
  • Epidemiological or disease-trend reporting experience Is preferred
  • Occupational health; and deployed or austere-site public health experience Is preferred
