About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) program. In this role, you'll provide Tier III network support, troubleshoot complex enterprise network issues, support engineering changes, and help maintain mission-critical infrastructure in a fast-paced defense environment.

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) program. In this role, you'll provide Tier III network support, troubleshoot complex enterprise network issues, support engineering changes, and help maintain mission-critical infrastructure in a fast-paced defense environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier III support for enterprise network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with project managers, network architects, engineers, and technical teams.
- Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities and operational reviews.
- Analyze network performance and troubleshoot complex network issues.
- Generate status reports and engineering documentation.
- Support network upgrades, maintenance activities, and engineering changes.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation and security-related initiatives.
- Serve as a technical expert during outage response and troubleshooting bridge calls.
- Create, manage, and resolve incident tickets and work orders using the Remedy ITSM system.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation for operational support.
- 10+ years of professional work experience (advanced education may substitute for some experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience.
- 6+ months of leadership or management experience.
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ or equivalent).
Experience with:
- Enterprise LAN, WAN, VXLAN, SDN, and SD-WAN environments
- Routing and switching protocols including:
- BGP
- OSPF
- STP
- TCP/UDP
- DHCP
- DNS
- VPN/VRF
- SD-Access
- Cisco ISE
- Cisco DNA Center (DNAC)
- Cisco networking hardware
- Palo Alto firewalls
- KG-175 encryptors
- Internet protocols including DNS, HTTP, SMTP, and SSL
- Network troubleshooting and engineering support
- STIG compliance and vulnerability remediation
- CCNP certification
- CISSP certification
- Experience with:
- Netscout
- BlueCoat
- NetScaler
- Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
- VoIP infrastructure administration
- Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V)
- CORA (CCRI) processes
- Previous leadership experience in network operations environments
