Job Description:

Parsons are looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Landscape Design Manager to join their team! In this role you will lead and coordinate the landscape and public realm design for Sports Business Unit (Sport BU) assets, ensuring design quality, compliance with city and sports federation standards, and alignment with broader master planning and sustainability objectives across the City.

What You'll Be Doing;
  • Oversee the design review of Sport BU landscape and public realm elements, including:
    • Planting
    • Irrigation
    • Grading
    • Street furniture
    • Hardscaping
    • Public open space
  • Coordinate multiple landscape design packages to ensure consistency, integration, and adherence to the project brief.
  • Assist in developing the scope of services for appointed design consultants, ensuring that all landscape and public realm requirements are clearly defined and aligned with project objectives.
  • Ensure landscape-specific deliverables such as planting plans, hardscape layouts, irrigation strategies, and grading designs are:
    • Fully coordinated across disciplines
    • Aligned with the project brief
    • Delivered to the required quality and timeline.
  • Ensure land planning and landscape design for all Sports assets comply with:
    • Relevant building codes
    • City Framework standards
    • Standards and technical requirements of sports stakeholders and federations.
  • Maintain strong understanding of sports-related spatial and functional requirements in the public realm.
  • Keep abreast of changes to applicable codes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Ensure updated requirements are reflected in ongoing and future designs and project documentation.
  • Liaise with the Master Development Business Unit and City planning teams to ensure Sport BU assets:
    • Align with broader city and district planning codes
    • Comply with urban design standards and policies
    • Integrate seamlessly into the wider master plan.
  • Work closely with the Sport BU development team and the Centre of Excellence Design Directors to ensure:
    • Close coordination on all Sports assets
    • Clear communication of landscape design intent and constraints
    • Timely resolution of design issues across disciplines.
  • Oversee the broader planning and integration of Sports assets across the City, ensuring:
    • Connectivity to transport, public realm, and adjacent uses
    • Coherent landscape character and identity
    • Optimized user experience for athletes, spectators, and visitors.
  • Oversee the implementation of sustainability requirements within landscape and public realm design, including:
    • Water-efficient planting and irrigation solutions
    • Climate-responsive shading and material selection
    • Integration of sustainable mobility and active lifestyle elements.
  • Work with the sustainability team to demonstrate compliance with project sustainability targets and relevant certification systems.


What Required Skills You'll Bring;
  • Qualified or chartered Landscape Architect or Urban Designer.
  • 15 years of professional experience in landscape architecture and/or urban design.
  • Experience in large-scale mixed-use, sports, or city-scale developments.
  • Middle East regional experience is important but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Public realm and open space design
    • Sports venue and sports district requirements
    • Urban planning and city framework integration.
  • Proven experience in managing and reviewing complex landscape design packages.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, city framework standards, and sports federation requirements.
  • Ability to develop and manage consultant scopes of work.
  • Excellent coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams (urban planning, architecture, engineering, sustainability).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in design and documentation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, Adobe Suite, and relevant landscape design software).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
