Financial Intelligence Data Analyst / Data Scientist
Pay Rate: $80-93/hr W2

Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Intelligence Data Analyst / Data Scientist to support high-impact national security and economic intelligence initiatives. This role focuses on analyzing complex financial, trade, and structured/unstructured datasets to identify patterns, risks, and insights that can inform senior decision-makers and policy stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has strong technical data analysis skills, experience applying machine learning and statistical methods, and the ability to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable intelligence products. This role requires someone who can work closely with clients and stakeholders, understand mission needs, and develop data-driven solutions that support financial intelligence and economic security objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze large structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and meaningful relationships
Develop analytical methodologies to support financial intelligence, trade analysis, and risk assessment efforts
Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques to answer complex mission and business questions
Build data-driven solutions that support intelligence analysis and policy decision-making
Correlate disparate datasets to uncover hidden relationships, networks, and activity patterns
Create visualizations, dashboards, reports, graphs, tables, and presentations to clearly communicate findings
Present technical findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and senior decision-makers
Use scripting and data science tools to automate analysis, transform data, and improve analytic efficiency
Support large-scale financial, trade, or geopolitical analysis based on emerging developments and mission priorities
Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics to evaluate trends, risks, and outcomes
Develop property graphs from multiple data sources to support network analytics
Implement machine learning workflows into production or operational software environments
Work with intelligence analysts, data scientists, and technical teams to deliver cross-functional analytic solutions
Produce clear written documentation, technical summaries, and analytic products tailored to different audiences

Required Qualifications
Experience using open-source machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or similar tools
Experience applying machine learning methods to proprietary or complex datasets
Experience with statistical analysis and correlation of disparate data sources
Experience using OpenSearch or similar analytics platforms
Experience with probabilistic modeling, predictive modeling, or related analytical techniques
Experience performing data analysis using Python, R, MATLAB, Spark, or similar scripting/data tools
Experience implementing machine learning processes into production software applications
Experience using big data tools to answer analytical or business questions
Experience building property graphs from multiple data sources for network analysis
Ability to analyze large, noisy, and unstructured datasets and identify actionable patterns
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences
Active TS/SCI clearance

Education & Experience

One of the following combinations is required:

Associate’s degree with 6+ years of data analysis experience
Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of data analysis experience
Master’s degree with 2+ years of data analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience performing data analysis in cleared or intelligence community environments
Experience analyzing financial data, trade data, or economic activity
Knowledge of Western Hemisphere regional security, crime, or financial issues
Knowledge of formal and informal financial systems
Understanding of financial crime, illicit finance, and unlawful financial activity typologies
Ability to write intelligence products aligned with analytic tradecraft standards
Financial intelligence, sanctions, anti-money laundering, or financial crime certification such as CAMS, CGSS, or CFCS
