What You Will Do :
The Staff II Fraud Analytics Consultant will contribute complex and detailed analysis in support of advanced analytics, fraud detection, cybersecurity monitoring, and investigative activities as part of a multidisciplinary team. This position will work with data scientists, fraud analysts, cybersecurity professionals, engineers, and client stakeholders to support fraud prevention, detection, response, and continuous improvement initiatives while documenting work for use by the broader project team .

What You Will Do :
The Staff II Fraud Analytics Consultant will contribute complex and detailed analysis in support of advanced analytics, fraud detection, cybersecurity monitoring, and investigative activities as part of a multidisciplinary team. This position will work with data scientists, fraud analysts, cybersecurity professionals, engineers, and client stakeholders to support fraud prevention, detection, response, and continuous improvement initiatives while documenting work for use by the broader project team .
- Analyze structured and unstructured datasets to identify anomalous, malicious, or fraudulent patterns and activities.
- Perform complex analysis and support development, refinement, testing, and documentation of predictive analytics models, fraud indicators, detection logic, and analytical methodologies used to identify anomalous or potentially fraudulent activity.
- Provide analytical guidance to project teams and collaborate directly with stakeholders to evaluate findings, refine analytical approaches, and support operational decision-making.
- Experien ce independently performing complex analytical assignments and presenting findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Perform investigative and forensic analysis of transactional, behavioral, and system activity data to identify trends, root causes, and potential attack vectors.
- Support data extraction, transformation, loading , and data quality activities that enable analytics and reporting.
- Assist with collection, integration, validation, and quality assessment of large and diverse data sources.
- Support development of fraud indicators, detection logic, business rules, and analytical algorithms to improve monitoring and investigation capabilities.
- Conduct data mining, link analysis, behavioral analysis, and pattern recognition activities to support operational decision-making.
- Develop recurring and ad hoc analytical products, technical reports, dashboards, briefings, presentations, and executive summaries.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and business representatives to gather requirements, interpret findings, and support implementation of recommended actions.
- Participate in incident response, threat analysis, and investigative activities related to identified cyber and fraud events.
- Support continuous enhancement of analytics capabilities through research, testing, and application of emerging analytical techniques, technologies, and best practices.
- Document analytical methodologies, findings, procedures, and work products to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
- Work onsite at the client location in Lanham, Maryland five (5) days per week and collaborate closely with government personnel and contractor team members.
What You Will Need :
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science , Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Information Science, or a STEM related field.
- SIX (6) or more years of professional experience supporting data analytics, fraud analytics, cybersecurity analytics, data science, business intelligence, investigations, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience analyzing large datasets and identifying trends, anomalies, patterns, or correlations using analytical and statistical techniques.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, visualizations, or analytical products that support operational or business decision-making.
- Experience working with SQL and data analysis tools to query, manipulate, and analyze data.
- Experience supporting data integration, data preparation, ETL activities, or data quality initiatives.
- Experience effectively communicating technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working independently while contributing to cross-functional project teams.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite at the client location in Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Ability and willingness to work onsite at the client location in Lanham, Maryland five (5) days per week.
What Would Be Nice To Have :
- Experience supporting fraud analytics, cybersecurity, financial crime, digital identity, insider threat, or risk analytics programs.
- Experience developing, refining, or validating predictive models, statistical models, fraud indicators, or analytical methodologies.
- Experience with Python, R, Java, SQL, or similar analytics and programming languages.
- Experience with big data platforms and technologies such as Spark, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, or cloud-based analytics environments.
- Experience with SIEM platforms, including Splunk, or related cybersecurity monitoring technologies.
- Experience performing link analysis, behavioral analytics, graph analytics, or network analytics.
- Experience supporting incident response, investigations, or threat intelligence activities.
- Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and collaborative development environments.
- Candidate currently possesses an active Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) clearance or has held one within the last six (6) months.
