Training Program Support Specialist

Duties

• Researches methods to develop and apply logistics procurement and distribution in a foreign internal defense and unconventional warfare environments
• Prepares, submits, and updates forecasts for operations and training support for up to six months in advance
• Analyzes operational training requirements, assesses training program capabilities, and develops courses of actions to effectively execute mission requirements.
• Researches, develops, maintains and updates material for courses typically covering upper level unconventional warfare logistics.
• Revises lesson plans to reflect new developments in the field and to relate to students with complicated, specialized or persistent learning difficulties.

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs.
• This position requires employees work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
• This position may require the employee to occasionally work under adverse environmental conditions
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Analyzed operational requirements, synchronized personnel, equipment, facilities, funding, and training resources, and advised senior leadership on mission execution, policy implementation, and solutions to complex operational challenges, 2) Planned, coordinated, and managed large-scale unconventional warfare training exercises by forecasting resource requirements, overseeing logistics, administering operational funds, coordinating with installation agencies and external stakeholders, and ensuring the availability of ranges, drop zones, vehicles, and specialized equipment to support mission readiness, 3) Developed and updated Programs of Instruction and lesson plans and instructed and briefed personnel on complex logistics and operational procedures.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
