About the Role
Bailey Information Technology (BIT) is seeking Personnel Security Administrative Support Specialists to support a federal agency's Office of Security in Washington, DC. In this role, you'll be the first line of support for personnel security case processing — reviewing intake forms, maintaining case files, and providing front-office support to a busy security office. This is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling sensitive information in a professional federal office environment.
What You'll Do
- Receive, review, and process personnel security intake/initiation forms for accuracy and completeness.
- Enter and validate personnel security data in federal case-management systems.
- Identify incomplete or inaccurate submissions and communicate corrections professionally to applicants and sponsors.
- Maintain organized, compliant case files and documentation.
- Greet and assist visitors, answer phones, and provide general administrative support to the security office.
- Handle sensitive personal information with discretion and confidentiality at all times.
What You Bring
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain federal national security/suitability eligibility.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in administrative support, records/case management, or personnel security processing.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook/Teams) and general office equipment.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with a federal personnel security system of record.
- Prior experience in a government or cleared office setting.
