Sanitation Specialist - Fort Irwin, California

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
• Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas, which include offices, hallways, restrooms, break rooms and common areas.
• Empty, clean and reline trash and recycle bins and transport waste to designated collection points.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, seal and wax floors; vacuum and clean carpets and rugs.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including fixtures, partitions, mirrors and floors; restock supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, soap and other products.
• Dust and wipe furniture, ledges, vents, windowsills and other surfaces; clean interior glass and doors.
• Operate custodial equipment (e.g., floor machines, auto scrubbers, vacuums) in a safe and proper manner.
• Maintain custodial closets and carts in a clean, organized and secure condition.
• Maintain records and inventory of cleaning supplies and prepare lists of supplies to be purchased.
• Maintain appropriate records of all work accomplished.
• Perfom other related duties as assigned consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Must be able to work a day shift, night shift or weekend duty.
• Maintains and/or completes required records and applicable forms
• Performs daily duties normally associated with this specialty.
Qualifications
Safety Requirements:
• Comply with Hazardous Waste Program. Comply with Company and facility Hazardous Material Programs
• Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area
• Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment
• Will be familiar with and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed/required
• Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment
• Practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Debris awareness/prevention and safety at all times
Qualifications:
• Must be able to use and have a good practical knowledge of industrial maintenance equipment and supplies
• Must have successfully completed approved course or training as required by Company, State/Local Govt, DOD, regulation/Instruction
• Must possess a secret clearance
• Must have completed High School or equivalent
• Must be a US citizen
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be customer service oriented and possess the ability to communicate professionally, courteously, and respectfully
Degree & Experience:
• Associate degree and 1+ years of relevant experience, or
• No degree and 2+ years of relevant experience

- This classification's activities range from, an office-like environment with extensive sitting demands to an environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
