Position Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications/Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team onsite in San Diego, CA. This critical role focuses on designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructures across physical and logical layers (Layers 1–4). You will be responsible for ensuring robust, secure, and scalable network solutions that meet organizational needs. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex network systems, including VLAN architecture, routing, switching, and fiber/copper infrastructure, within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

Design and deploy VLAN architectures and network segmentation strategies to enhance security and performance.
Configure trunking, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and Layer 2 switching technologies.
Implement IP addressing schemes, subnetting, and Layer 3 routing configurations.
Troubleshoot issues across OSI Layers 1–4, diagnosing physical faults and logical network anomalies.
Configure and support routing protocols, Access Control Lists (ACLs), Quality of Service (QoS), and secure traffic flow.
Conduct network performance analysis, capacity planning, and infrastructure scalability assessments.
Support fiber and copper cabling infrastructure, including structured cabling standards.
Support and maintain network documentation and monitor network health proactively.

Top Requirements:

8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience
Deep understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA)
Hands-on experience designing and implementing VLANs and Layer 3 routing solutions
Certifications such as CCNA Security, Security+, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, or GICSP (IAT Level II preferred)
Strong troubleshooting abilities across physical and logical network layers
Proven experience configuring routing protocols, ACLs, and QoS

Preferred Qualifications:

Cisco CCNP or higher certification (or equivalent enterprise certification)
Experience supporting classified/enclaved network environments
Experience with fiber backbone design and data center buildouts
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and infrastructure documentation platforms
