AOS Production Supervisor
Primary Function
Reports to the Maintenance Manager and provides day-to-day supervision and coordination of aircraft maintenance production activities for Yulista's Aircraft Operations Support (AOS) task area at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC). Responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of aircraft maintenance, inspection, and modification tasks in support of NASA research and flight operations. The Production Supervisor directs all aircraft movement, production control, workflow scheduling, material coordination, and all flightline operations while ensuring all work is executed in accordance with NASA, FAA, AS9100/9110, and contractual requirements.

AOS Production Supervisor
Primary Function

Responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of aircraft maintenance, inspection, and modification tasks in support of NASA research and flight operations. The Production Supervisor directs all aircraft movement, production control, workflow scheduling, material coordination, and all flightline operations while ensuring all work is executed in accordance with NASA, FAA, AS9100/9110, and contractual requirements.
Essential Duties
Production Oversight
- Direct daily maintenance and modification production activities, coordinating workforce and resources to meet schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
- Assign work packages, monitor progress, and ensure documentation is complete and accurate in NAMIS or other NASA-designated systems.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager and AOS Site Lead to align production priorities with mission requirements and flight schedules.
- Monitor job status, constraints, and critical path elements; initiate corrective actions to mitigate schedule risks or resource conflicts.
- Maintain awareness of all open discrepancies and deferred maintenance actions, ensuring timely closure and regulatory compliance.
Resource & Workflow Management
- Supervise aircraft leads, mechanics, and production control staff across assigned platforms.
- Manage material requisitions, tooling, and parts flow in coordination with Supply Chain and Maintenance Control.
- Ensure labor utilization and work assignments comply with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) and company policy.
- Track daily maintenance metrics including man-hours, aircraft availability, and turnaround time.
Technical & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with FAA 14 CFR Part 43, NASA maintenance standards, and Yulista's AS9100/9110 QMS procedures.
- Support internal and external audits, assist with corrective actions, and enforce tool control, FOD prevention, and configuration management standards.
- Maintain continuous communication with the Quality Assurance Manager to verify inspection points and acceptance criteria are met.
Safety & Environmental Stewardship
- Promote compliance with the Safety and Health Management Plan (SHEMP), OSHA, and NASA safety requirements.
- Conduct daily safety briefings, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
- Ensure personnel strictly adhere to PPE, hazardous material, and spill-response procedures.
Training & Workforce Development
- Partner with the Training Manager to verify personnel qualifications, certifications, and currency.
- Provide mentoring and hands-on technical guidance to mechanics and leads.
- Participate in onboarding and recurring training programs to promote technical excellence and procedural compliance.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Analyze production data to identify process inefficiencies, safety concerns, and quality trends.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance flow, shop organization, and resource planning.
- Prepare daily and weekly production reports for the Maintenance Manager and Site Lead.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of aircraft maintenance, modification, and production control processes.
- Familiarity with NASA, FAA, and DoD aviation maintenance standards and documentation practices.
- Proficiency in NAMIS, Deltek Costpoint, or similar maintenance and materials management systems.
- Working knowledge of AS9100/9110, FAR, and DFARS standards.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage personnel in a dynamic, high-tempo environment while maintaining safety and compliance.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications and data-driven decision making.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including 5 years within the past 7 supervising or leading maintenance or production control teams supporting aircraft of similar size and complexity to those at AFRC.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate or equivalent military designation, or equivalent qualifications and expertise.
- Familiarity with AS9100/9110, FAR/DFARS, and maintenance scheduling systems.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Must pass background and drug screening; demonstrated ability to lead teams and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

- Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
