About the Opportunity:
We are supporting a premier defense contractor embedded with Space Systems Command at Los Angeles Air Force Base. This Senior Systems Architect role sits at the intersection of technical strategy and mission execution — advising senior Space Force leadership on architectural direction and ensuring complex mission systems integrate successfully across the enterprise space systems ground portfolio. What You Will Be Doing:
- Advising Space Force leadership on technical architecture decisions across the enterprise ground systems portfolio
- Defining and documenting system architecture using SysML, UML, DoDAF, UAF, and MBSE frameworks
- Ensuring integration and interoperability across complex SATCOM and ground segment systems
- Translating mission requirements into technical architecture and system design direction
- Engaging with senior government stakeholders, program offices, and cross-functional engineering teams
- Identifying architectural risks and delivering recommendations to senior decision-makers
- Supporting strategic SATCOM programs including next-generation NC3 ground architecture efforts
- Bridging the gap between software architecture, systems engineering, and mission operations
What We Are Looking For:
- 10+ years in systems engineering, software architecture, or enterprise architecture
- Direct experience supporting Space Force, Air Force, NRO, or DoD space programs
- SATCOM or ground systems experience — AEHF, Strategic SATCOM, or MILSATCOM backgrounds are highly competitive
- Working knowledge of SysML, UML, DoDAF, UAF, and MBSE
- Active TS/SCI clearance — this is a hard requirement, no exceptions

Location and Work Environment:
This position is onsite at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, CA, with some hybrid flexibility based on customer needs. Reliable transportation to LAAFB is required.
Clearance verification will be required prior to submission. Only candidates with an active TS/SCI will be considered.
