Job Description
Description:
TEKsystems is seeking an Intermediate to Sr. Software Engineer to support a high-impact national security program focused on ground-based mission systems that play a critical role in missile tracking, space domain awareness, and the protection of our nation's strategic interests. This is your opportunity to contribute to technology that matters — systems that operate at the intersection of innovation and national defense, supporting real-time mission operations that have a direct impact on global security.
You will be embedded within a large, highly specialized Software Engineering team organized across multiple subsystems, each with a distinct technical focus. The team operates across both active development and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) efforts, building and sustaining mission-critical software product lines while developing new capabilities in close coordination with a classified government customer. This is not a back-office role — the work you do here directly supports warfighters and intelligence professionals who depend on these systems every day.
This position is 100% on-site in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in Redondo Beach, CA.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and deliver new software capabilities as a C++ engineer in a fast-paced agile environment running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Design, code, and unit test software solutions aligned to Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs)
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software discrepancies to keep mission systems running at peak performance
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and Sr. engineers across multiple specialized software subsystems
What You Bring:
- Strong C++ development experience — this is the core requirement
- Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments
- Experience working in agile development teams
- Active TS/SCI clearance — this is non-negotiable and required on day one
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 0+ years, or 4+ additional years of experience in lieu of degree
Why This Role:
You'll be working on revolutionary systems with a team of highly skilled engineers who are passionate about what they build and why they build it. The mission is real, the technology is cutting edge, and the impact is generational. If you're a cleared software engineer looking for work that goes beyond the ordinary, this is it.
