Job Description
Engineer Network 3 to support various programs within the Connectivity and Networked Solutions (CNS) Business Unit (BU). As a member of the CNS BU department you’ll get to support engineering efforts towards network operations and security. This position will serve on-site at San Diego, CA.
Shift Time: 8am-5pm; 9/80A Schedule
Responsibilities
Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Basic Qualifications for Engineer Network 3
5 Years with Bachelors in Science in a STEM field or
3 Years with Masters in a STEM field or
1 Year with PhD in a STEM field
CompTIA Network+ or similar certification
Experience with Juniper, SDWAN, and Cisco Routers and Switches
Preferred Qualifications for Engineer Network 3
Basic qualifications met plus:
CompTIA Security+ Certification
CCNA Certification
