As a Director for Boston Fusion, you will have the opportunity to own the technical direction, financial success, and business growth of a significant portion of our project portfolio, leading complex research and development efforts in AI, autonomy, counter-AI, and human/machine teaming for the national security community.
This role will lead technical and business development teams, shape and win new work with our core DoD/IC customers, and develop the people who make our research possible — all while collaborating with company leadership on corporate strategy and program execution.
Every day, we go above and beyond to solve complex problems, making a difference for our nation. We do this by bringing together smart, curious people with diverse life experiences who collaborate creatively to achieve innovative technological breakthroughs.
Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Interface with customers, including travel to customer/partner sites, to shape business development efforts and effectively communicate technical and programmatic results
• Lead project teams, including subcontractors and consultants, to ensure projects are completed according to specifications, budgets, and timelines
• Provide strategic leadership in identifying research approaches, technical strategy, and program milestones across a portfolio of projects
• Coordinate training and development of technical staff, including prioritizing and assigning team members to appropriate projects
• Develop employees' professional skills by providing direct, thoughtful, and consistent feedback on performance
• Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment across projects and departments
• Collaborate with the management team on corporate strategy, policy, and program execution
• Communicate goals, policies, and procedures of the company to technical staff; develop plans to implement these needs
• Prepare and deliver reports for management and marketing review meetings
• Additional project and proposal role duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities:
• Participate in program and company budget planning
• Travel to attend and present at customer meetings and relevant industry conferences
• Maintain high standards at work, continuously looking for solutions to improve processes and products
• Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside the organization to achieve Boston Fusion business goals
Required Education and Experience:
• Master’s degree in a technical field, such as computer science, natural science, mathematics, engineering, or related fields, and 10 or more years of professional research and project management experience
• Demonstrated ability to manage large projects, including ownership of the financial statements (P&L) of a project, in a contractor environment
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Ability to balance multiple objectives in a high-paced environment
• Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Required Technical Qualifications:

• Demonstrated knowledge of distributed collaborative development environments
• Technical depth in one or more relevant disciplines, such as test and evaluation, model development and training, or computer vision/image processing
Preferred Technical Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to mature technologies from early-stage research through transition
