Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer-Developer (Level 4) for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA.
In this role, the individual will support the development of mission software written in Java, C++, Python, ReactJS. The individual will collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders to design and implement software solutions, ensure engineering excellence, and achieve program objectives.Duties may include (but are not limited to):
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.
Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.
- 5+ years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, JavaScript) and familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and program managers
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation in complex software environments
In this role, the individual will support the development of mission software written in Java, C++, Python, ReactJS. - Design, develop, test, and maintain software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
- Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities for systems integrations
- Develop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
- Participate in the agile software development lifecycle including planning, reviews, and supporting customer meetings
- Debug and resolve issues identified to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products
- Perform software development, participate in code reviews, and adhere to guidance on software standards and design principles.
- Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development
- Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics that align with organization goals and industry benchmarks
- Execute and document software research and development projects
- Advise on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
- 5+ years of experience developing complex software applications and algorithmic solutions
- 5+ years of experience leading software development
- 5+ years of experience with modern programming and scripting languages such as C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Visual Basic
- 1+ years of experience in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud
- Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints
