Accounting Manager

Summary
The Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with government contract regulations, company policies, and applicable accounting standards. This role blends hands-on accounting with strategic leadership, supporting both daily operations and long-term growth. The ideal candidate has experience in government contracting (FAR/DFARS, CAS) and thrives in a dynamic small-business environment.
Responsibilities
• Manage daily and monthly accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, budgeting, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain DCAA-compliant accounting systems and ensure accurate cost accounting and indirect rate calculations.
• Oversee project cost tracking, billing, and revenue recognition in accordance with contract terms.
• Assist in developing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal regulations (FAR/DFARS).
• Support proposal pricing, cost-volume development, and indirect rate preparation.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; at least 2 years in a government contracting environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
