Job Description
Markon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by designing, developing, testing, and maintaining secure software solutions that enable cyber threat intelligence sharing and mission-critical operations. This role develops scalable applications, enterprise integrations, and cloud-native services using modern programming languages, Kubernetes, and Agile development practices. The role supports secure, standards-based data exchange through technologies such as Apache NiFi, STIX/TAXII, and distributed cloud platforms while delivering resilient, production-ready capabilities across complex enterprise environments.

- Design, develop, and integrate Kubernetes-hosted services supporting cyber threat intelligence sharing and enterprise mission applications.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Apache NiFi data flows for reliable data collection, routing, transformation, and delivery.
- Implement STIX and TAXII interfaces to enable secure, standards-based cyber threat intelligence exchange.
- Develop software components, automation, and integration services using Python, Java, and Bash.
- Integrate applications and services across AWS and Azure cloud environments.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and service interfaces supporting machine-to-machine communication and enterprise interoperability.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data flow, connectivity, interoperability, and application performance issues.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and operational controls to improve service availability, reliability, and performance.
- Develop technical documentation, interface specifications, deployment procedures, and data exchange workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering and mission teams in an Agile environment to deliver secure, production-ready software solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
- Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience integrating enterprise services and distributed applications.
- Strong experience developing and maintaining Apache NiFi data flows or comparable data-flow technologies.
- Experience developing software using Python, Java, and Bash.
- Experience integrating applications and services across AWS and Azure cloud environments.
- Strong familiarity with STIX and TAXII standards.
- Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting cyber threat intelligence sharing platforms.
- Experience integrating services across classified and unclassified environments.
- Experience with DevSecOps pipelines, secure API design, observability, and monitoring tools.
- Experience with container security and cloud-native application architectures
