Job Description

Markon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by designing, developing, and maintaining secure software solutions that enable cyber analytics and mission-critical intelligence operations. This role develops Java-based services, RESTful APIs, and data visualization solutions that transform complex datasets into actionable intelligence. The role integrates SIGINT-derived behavioral signatures, optimizes enterprise data platforms, and delivers scalable, containerized applications using modern DevSecOps practices and cloud-native technologies.



  • Develop and maintain Java 17 services using Spring Framework 6 to support enterprise mission applications.
  • Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and data access patterns to support high-performance applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that expose cyber analytics, fingerprinting capabilities, and enterprise services.
  • Develop Power BI data models, dashboards, and visualizations using Power Query M and DAX to support operational decision-making.
  • Integrate SIGINT-derived behavioral signatures, patterns, and indicators into analytic workflows and mission applications.
  • Containerize, deploy, and maintain applications within OpenShift environments.
  • Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, database, visualization, and system integration issues.
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve Power BI issues, implement new data ingestion requirements, and enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Participate in design reviews and deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable production software solutions.




Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience developing Java applications using Spring Framework or Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases and data access patterns.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and containerized applications.
  • Experience using Python for automation or data processing.
  • Experience developing Power BI dashboards using Power Query M.
  • Experience supporting GitLab CI/CD pipelines or comparable DevSecOps tooling.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.


Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Power BI Report Server administration and DAX.
  • Experience with OpenShift, MariaDB, Elasticsearch, or Windows-based environments.
  • Experience supporting cyber analytics, behavioral signatures, SIGINT-derived analytics, or threat intelligence applications.




USD $190,000.00 - USD $205,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
