Job Description
Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by engineering, integrating, and sustaining enterprise infrastructure supporting a high-priority malware analysis modernization program. This role works closely with software development teams to design, deploy, and maintain secure Linux-based environments that enable mission-critical cyber analysis, orchestration, and data enrichment capabilities. Working within an Agile and DevSecOps environment, the role drives infrastructure modernization, automation, and platform reliability while supporting the delivery of next-generation mission systems.
Required Qualifications
USD $170,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.

- Engineer, deploy, and maintain Linux-based enterprise infrastructure supporting mission-critical cyber capabilities.
- Design, implement, and sustain Kubernetes clusters and VMware virtualized environments.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible to improve deployment consistency and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, operating system, virtualization, and platform issues.
- Support software development teams by maintaining development, integration, test, and production environments.
- Implement infrastructure hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices.
- Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability to ensure reliable enterprise operations.
- Collaborate with software engineers, cybersecurity teams, and platform engineers to modernize enterprise infrastructure and support DevSecOps initiatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Support the deployment, sustainment, and continuous improvement of cyber analysis, orchestration, and data enrichment platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Experience engineering and supporting Linux-based enterprise environments.
- Experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation and configuration management.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting complex enterprise infrastructure and platform issues.
- Experience designing, deploying, and supporting VMware virtualized environments.
- Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes platforms.
- Experience supporting Agile software development and DevSecOps environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience administering or integrating Pure Storage solutions.
- Experience supporting MongoDB environments.
- Experience architecting and deploying Cisco network solutions.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving complex network connectivity, performance, and availability issues.
- Experience performing Cisco upgrades, patch management, and network optimization.
- Experience supporting malware analysis, cyber operations, or enterprise cybersecurity modernization programs.
