Job Description
Markon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by designing, developing, and modernizing secure full-stack applications that support mission-critical operations. This role emphasizes the development of scalable backend services, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications while contributing to modern user interfaces and enterprise integrations. Working within an Agile environment, the role leverages open-source technologies, containerized platforms, and AWS cloud services to deliver resilient, high-performance solutions that support evolving mission requirements.

USD $225,000.00 - USD $235,000.00 /Yr.

- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications with a primary focus on scalable backend services and web technologies.
- Develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and RESTful service architectures.
- Design and optimize distributed applications emphasizing high availability, scalability, concurrency, and performance.
- Develop and optimize multi-threaded Java applications supporting mission-critical workloads.
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs and messaging solutions using REST and Java Message Service (JMS).
- Develop cloud-native applications utilizing AWS services, Amazon RDS, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, Rancher, and Tomcat.
- Design and optimize data solutions using MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch, and other enterprise database platforms.
- Integrate open-source frameworks, libraries, and enterprise technologies to deliver modern software capabilities.
- Build and maintain software using Git, Maven, Jira, and Confluence while supporting Agile development practices.
- Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and Government stakeholders to deliver secure, maintainable, and production-ready mission solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
- Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of software engineering experience.
- Expert experience developing full-stack applications with a strong emphasis on Java-based backend services.
- Expert experience with Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, RESTful services, and Java threading.
- Experience developing distributed, high-availability enterprise applications.
- Experience with AWS cloud services, Amazon RDS, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, Rancher, and Tomcat.
- Experience developing applications using MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch, or comparable enterprise database technologies.
- Experience with Java Message Service (JMS) and enterprise messaging architectures.
- Experience integrating open-source frameworks, libraries, and enterprise technologies.
- Experience using Git, Maven, Jira, and Confluence within Agile development environments.
- Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Kibana, Alfresco, or enterprise content management platforms.
- Experience developing applications using Node.js, Svelte, React, or Angular.
- Experience designing large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community mission applications.
