Job Description
seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented to join our vehicle sustainment team inThe selected candidate will provide maintenance support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.
:
- Research, plan, design, and develop new applications for electro-mechanical equipment and systems; review contractor's standards, specifications, and other documentation to determine mechanical engineering requirements.
- Design, repair, or review gas and diesel engines, simple mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation, and/or instrumentation systems using analytical and investigative methods and techniques to ensure systems meet required specifications.
- Gather and correlate basic data and perform routine engineering research and development assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests to develop new applications or upgrade existing hardware.
- Guide and assist technicians in the fabrication and installation of simple mechanical and related equipment and routine systems to ensure conformance of product and systems with engineering design and customer specifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
:
- 6+ years of qualified mechanical experience. 1 year college accepted in lieu of 1.5 years' experience.
- Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: tactical and commercial wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles, power generators sets or construction equipment.
- Proven maintenance experience with repair and technical experience, background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance.
- Experience with maintenance support to include operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
- Experience with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters; experience applying industry and/or military standard troubleshooting procedures to isolate faulty system components.
- Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver's License for the location in which the work will be performed, a High School Diploma or GED, and a U.S. Passport valid for at least two years beyond the start date.
- Experience working on commercial construction equipment, as well as Civil Engineering equipment accompanying U.S. Air Force WRM Packages.
- Equipment experience but not limited to are: MHE Forklifts 2K-30K, Asphalt recyclers, mixers, sweepers, water tank trailers, tractors, compact track loaders, graders, dozers, excavators, loaders. Equipment also includes fire & emergency rescue equipment such as Fire Rescue Trucks, #1 & #2 variants, including water pump stations as well as fleet vehicles such as pick-ups & tractor-trailers.
- Knowledge of diagnostics, troubleshooting, and material specific to various manufacturers of equipment types such as Caterpillar, Engine-One, Case, JCB, Manitou, Bobcat, Freightliner, International, BCG, and OshKosh.
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting this position.
- Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
- Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
- Must be able to work in high noise areas.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
- Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
