About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Software Engineer to join the Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software Integrated Project Team (IPT) in Redondo Beach, CA. This highly visible program supports mission-critical national security systems and develops software capabilities for operational missions across multiple classified programs.
The GSMS organization consists of more than 100 software engineers working across development, sustainment, and operations efforts. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to advanced technologies and innovative solutions while collaborating with experienced engineers and subject matter experts in a highly classified environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform as a C++ software developer in a fast-paced Agile team environment utilizing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) virtual machines, servers, and workstations.
Design, develop, and unit test new software capabilities based on Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs).
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects identified through Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
Collaborate closely with Software IPT subject matter experts, systems engineers, and senior engineering staff across multiple software subsystems.
Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Contribute to the development and sustainment of mission-critical operational software products.
Support software integration, testing, and deployment activities within a classified environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5-8 years of experience, Master's degree with 3-6 years of experience, or PhD with 1-4 years of experience.
Additional relevant software development experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Active TS/SCI clearance (or active SSBI with the ability to obtain SCI prior to start).
Strong object-oriented programming skills with demonstrated proficiency in C++.
Experience developing in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment.
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with DevSecOps and test automation practices.
Experience with one or more programming languages including:

Python
Perl
Strong mathematical and algorithm development background.
Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Familiarity with Atlassian tools including:
Jira
Confluence
Bitbucket
Bamboo
Experience using Git version control in Linux environments.
