We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Modeling & Simulation Lead to support a cutting-edge Space-Based Interceptor (SBI) program in Huntsville, Alabama.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in M&S development, integration, and analysis, along with proven experience briefing senior leaders, collaborating across diverse stakeholder groups, and supporting ground test activities. This role will serve as a key contributor to M&S strategy and execution, ensuring analytic rigor and alignment with program objectives.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in M&S development, integration, and analysis, along with proven experience briefing senior leaders, collaborating across diverse stakeholder groups, and supporting ground test activities. This role will serve as a key contributor to M&S strategy and execution, ensuring analytic rigor and alignment with program objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support the M&S Lead in planning, developing, executing, and maintaining modeling and simulation capabilities for the SBI program.
- Develop, refine, and validate models supporting system performance, threat analysis, engagement timelines, and operational concepts.
- Coordinate with engineering, system design, flight software, test, and mission analysis teams to ensure consistency between models and program technical baselines.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise, and technically accurate briefings to senior leadership, government customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Engage with external partners, contractors, and government stakeholders to communicate M&S requirements, integration needs, and results.
- Support ground test design, execution, data collection, and analysis; incorporate results into M&S updates and performance assessments.
- Ensure M&S artifacts meet program standards, configuration control requirements, and documentation expectations.
- Assist in identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities for M&S tool enhancement to support system development and decision-making.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- 14 years of experience in modeling and simulation within aerospace, missile defense, space systems, or similar domains.
- Demonstrated experience supporting system development programs, including test integration or ground test activities.
- Strong communication skills and experience briefing complex technical content to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.
Required Clearance:
- Active Secret Clearance, Top Secret preferred; US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with missile defense systems, interceptor design, or kill vehicle performance modeling.
- Background in digital engineering or model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with verification & validation processes for physics-based models.
- Familiarity with ground or flight test data analysis.
- Proficiency with M&S tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python-based frameworks, C++, or government/industry-standard modeling environments.
