The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo CA is searching for a Budget Analyst to support PCF (NH-0501-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).

The United States Space Force (USSF) has a critical opening for a Financial Management Analyst at our Space Systems Command in sunny Los Angeles, CA. You'll be at the center of our Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) mission, directly supporting the iconic Global Positioning System (GPS) that our nation and the world rely on every day. In this role, you will be the financial backbone for cutting-edge space acquisition programs. Your primary focus will be steering programs through the entire DoD financial lifecycle, applying your expertise in the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for formulating budgets, executing dollars and justifying financial plans for multi-million dollar programs. You will serve as key advisor, using your quantitative skills and financial acumen to provide critical guidance to program managers and senior leaders, ensuring resources are allocated strategically to achieve mission success. Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and proactive financial professional with a proven track record of managing complex government resources. They will possess at least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the NH-02 or GS-12 level) performing the full spectrum of financial management functions, including the formulation, justification, and execution of budgets for major programs. This experience must be complemented by a deep familiarity with the DoD's Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, ideally gained from serving as a budget analyst for an Acquisition Category (ACAT) I program. In addition to these technical qualifications, the candidate must be a strategic partner who can provide clear financial guidance to all levels of management and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is highly desirable, and a DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification is considered a
- Must be a U.S Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- PCS / Incentive funding is authorized.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
- This position is part of the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
- This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
- Satellite work agreements will be considered to work out of a military base or federal office near you.
- The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
- This is a Financial Management Level (1, 2, or 3) Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d.
