Job Description

The Configuration Analyst III is a high-level position responsible for overseeing and managing the configuration of highly complex engineering and manufacturing products using a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. This role involves leading configuration management activities, ensuring compliance with the highest standards, and collaborating with executive management to achieve strategic objectives.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.


  • Manage internal and external data for a specific Integrated Program Team (IPT).
  • Coordinate, track, and review CDRL items.
  • Facilitate level Change Review Boards (CRB) for the assigned IPT, including escalating changes to higher-level boards when required.
  • Design systems and processes for managing databases and data analysis.
  • Collect, analyze, curate, and manage data for meaningful use throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain the product structure for physical parts, harnesses, and software.
  • Execute the change process through Change Requests, Change Actions, and Change Orders.
  • Open, assign, and track due dates on objects in 3DX.
  • Be directly responsible for Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) execution within the assigned IPT.
  • Develop portions of the Configuration Status Accounting.



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field of study and typically 6+ years of relevant experience
    • A higher level degree may substitute for experience
    • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Proven experience with CDRL deliveries
  • Process writing or technical writing experience
  • Basic understanding of Documentation Control Database systems
  • Configuration Management: Strong understanding of configuration control processes and tools, particularly in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in configuration data and change management processes.
  • Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, maintenance, and operations.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret technical data, product structures, and change impacts.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and 3DX for documentation and configuration management tasks.
  • Data Management and Analysis: Ability to design systems and processes for managing databases and performing data analysis.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a dynamic environment.



  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Advanced Software Skills: Proficiency in advanced features of Microsoft Office Suite and 3DX
  • Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for configuration management such as EIA-649 and MIL-HDBK-61.
  • Database Management: Experience with database management and version control systems to track and manage document revisions and updates.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements in a configuration management context.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities to address configuration issues and ensure smooth change implementation.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance



  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods, including proficiency with PLM and other configuration management tools.
  • Manual dexterity for operating computer and related equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to work in an office or hybrid environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required by project needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
