About The Role

Provides architectural and big picture oversight for development of new or enhanced products. Articulates the architectural vision, conceptualizes, and experiments with alternative architectural approaches, creates models and component and interface specification documents, and validates the architecture against requirements and assumptions. Works with various product developers, product managers, and customer application experts to create software products containing required features and modifications. Provides technical advice to other departments within the organization and may be responsible for integrating components built by product developers. Works without supervision on highly complex projects. Wide latitude for independent judgment. Highly skilled with extensive proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in mainframe software architecture and development, with demonstrated experience in large-scale, mission-critical systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with mainframe technologies including COBOL, CICS, BMS, JCL, VSAM, and IBM Assembler (ALC).
  • Demonstrated experience with Java development in a mainframe or enterprise environment a plus.
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools and frameworks, including GitHub, Jenkins, and IBM Dependency Based Build (DBB) a plus
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, REXX, CLIST, or Perl.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and validate enterprise-level architectures against complex regulatory and technical requirements.
  • Experience with healthcare claims processing systems, particularly Medicare Fee For Service.
  • Experience with Medicare DME, Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, or the Medicare Common Working File (CWF) specific processing systems.
  • Experience working with or in support of CMS programs or contracts.
  • Application lifecycle methodology experience, specifically Agile/SCRUM within a SAFe framework.
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including government clients.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools: Jira, Confluence, Slack.
  • Familiarity with CMS security frameworks including the CMS Acceptable Risk Safeguards (ARS) and CMS Technical Reference Architecture (TRA).
  • Experience with the ECHIMP change management process or equivalent CMS change control processes.

Details

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
