Work you'll do

As a Project - Software Engineer II on the Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for...

• Design, build, maintain, and optimize database environments that support enterprise applications, workflows, and reporting needs
• Develop and support database schemas, stored procedures, queries, and data pipelines that enable secure and efficient data management
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement fixes that improve availability, reliability, and scalability
• Support database migration, modernization, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities across development and production environments
• Collaborate with application, cloud, infrastructure, and quality assurance teams to support releases, integrations, security requirements, and ongoing operations

Team members focus on delivering services to clients, without additional expectations related to business development or promotion. Their employment is tied to their role on a project, and they are eligible for a benefits package that is competitive for project delivery-focused professionals.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in database administration, database engineering, or database development
• 2+ years of experience working with relational databases, structured query language, database performance tuning, and database maintenance
• Experience supporting database backup, recovery, migration, and monitoring activities in enterprise environments
• Experience working with application teams to support database integrations, releases, and production support
• Ability to travel 40%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

• Experience with cloud-based database platforms
• Experience supporting database modernization or migration initiatives
• Experience in federal, defense, or secure technology environments

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington DC, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Washington DC and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,600 to $147,600.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
