Job Description

DSD Laboratories, a leader in Cybersecurity, IT Portfolio/Project Management, and Big Data Analytics Decision Support, is seeking a motivated and qualified Data Scientist to lead, manage, and coordinate the creation and configuration of advanced data visualizations, dashboards, and decision support tools that integrate machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to aid Senior Leader decision-making across the Air Force Logistics community.

The Data Scientist works closely with data analysts, business analysts, product owners, and key stakeholders to create, deploy, and manage capabilities that apply advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques — forecasting, clustering, NLP, Generative AI, and more — to drive actionable decisions. Strong Python and SQL skills with AI/ML experience are required for this role. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a proactive work ethic who prioritizes client delivery.

What You Will Do

● Lead, manage, and coordinate the creation and configuration of advanced data visualizations, dashboards, and decision support tools that integrate machine learning and AI techniques.
● Work closely with data analysts, business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to create, deploy, and manage ML/AI capabilities — forecasting, clustering, NLP, Generative AI, and more.
● Design and implement dashboards integrating AI/ML models using business intelligence visualization tools (preferably Qlik Sense).
● Build and maintain quantitative and statistical models to predict and forecast future trends.
● Ensure the performance, efficiency, and scalability of deployed products (models, dashboards, etc.).
● Gather, analyze, and translate requirements into functional specifications, prototypes, and working capabilities.
● Lead tasks and track actions across multiple organizations with strong organizational, action-oriented follow-through.
● Communicate regularly with customers, teammates, and stakeholders on both technical and non-technical topics.
● Collaborate closely with the team to share ideas and ensure accurate, timely product delivery.
● Successfully deliver end-to-end projects and capabilities across a wide range of challenges and opportunities spanning multiple organizations.

What You Bring

● 3+ years of experience in data science.
● Experience with Python libraries used for AI development (TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or Keras).
● Demonstrated experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.
● 3+ years of experience with tools like Databricks or Jupyter Notebooks.
● Strong SQL scripting capabilities for data query and preparation.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities backed by solid writing and highly effective communication skills; must collaborate constructively with project end-users, customers, advocates, and stakeholders.
● BS/BA degree (or equivalent) required.
● Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications

● Master's degree or higher in data science, computer science, information systems, mathematics, or a similar discipline.
● Analytical and problem-solving skills with business intelligence tools (e.g., Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI, and SAP Business Objects).
● Experience with automated machine learning platforms like DataRobot.
