Job Description
Thermal Analyst (Mid–Level) | Huntsville, AL / Denver, CO / Sunnyvale, CA | Active Secret Clearance
Innovien is supporting a critical missile systems program. We're hiring a Thermal Analyst to own component-level thermal analysis as the program moves through major design reviews and testing, determining whether internal electronic equipment can withstand the extreme temperatures of launch and flight.
What You'll Do
Gather design inputs from mechanical, stress, and power engineering teams to scope and execute thermal analyses
Build thermal models from scratch in Siemens NX Space Systems Thermal, defining heat loads, material properties, contacts, and boundary conditions
Analyze thermal environments and deliver results (junction temperatures, surrounding heat sources) to component engineering teams for their own survivability analysis
Determine component survivability and identify potential failure risks under launch and flight conditions
Write clear, defensible analysis reports with design and testing recommendations
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
4-8 years performing thermal analysis on aerospace hardware; payload or spacecraft/missile box-level experience preferred
Hands-on experience building thermal models from scratch in Siemens NX Space Systems Thermal
Proven ability to independently gather design inputs from cross-functional engineering teams
Experience interpreting thermal simulation results and communicating findings through clear engineering reports
Active U.S. Secret clearance
Nice to Have
Scripting in MATLAB or Python for automating model setup on large cases and post-processing results
Experience analyzing short-duration, high-intensity thermal environments, such as aero heating soak
Background on launch vehicle, missile, or spacecraft payload programs
Details
Active U.S. Secret clearance required
Onsite 5 days/week — Denver, CO or Huntsville, AL (9/80 schedule with every other Friday off; M-F option available)
W2 or C2C
6-month contract for funded analysis work, with strong likelihood of extension based on program funding history
Innovien Solutions is an AI-native technology and talent company. We move fast, we're selective, and we back our consultants.
