Zachary Piper is seeking a Junior Engineer to support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs focused on C5ISR systems (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance). This role supports technical analysis, research, documentation, acquisition planning, and engineering activities that help deliver defense capabilities to U.S. allied and partner nations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer with military experience who wants to work on complex defense systems while gaining exposure to acquisition, systems engineering, and international defense programs.
- Analyze and evaluate technical requirements for FMS programs and customer requests.
- Review engineering documentation, including system designs, test plans, technical manuals, training materials, and contract deliverables.
- Conduct technical research and market analysis to support acquisition and procurement efforts.
- Assist with development of acquisition documentation, including:
- Statements of Work (SOW)
- Performance Work Statements (PWS)
- System Requirements Documents
- Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE)
- Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL)
- Quality Assurance Support Plans (QASP)
- Support technical evaluations of FMS cases and procurement actions.
- Perform configuration management assessments of assigned systems and equipment.
- Prepare technical briefings, reports, and presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Assist in the development and review of engineering change proposals, contract modifications, sole-source justifications, and other acquisition-related documents.
- Participate in system test events, demonstrations, acceptance activities, and technical reviews.
- Coordinate with government stakeholders, military organizations, and industry partners.
- Support programs involving communications, intelligence, surveillance, electronic warfare, radar, satellite, night vision, and related C5ISR technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 2-5 years of engineering experience.
- Prior military experience.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Technical writing experience.
- Research and analytical experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting the U.S. Army or Department of Defense.
- Familiarity with military communications, intelligence, surveillance, radar, satellite, or electronic warfare systems.
- Experience with defense acquisition, systems engineering, or Foreign Military Sales programs.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience developing or reviewing technical documentation and training materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, squat, and perform routine physical activities as needed.
