AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC LEADER

• You will demonstrate proper work methods to train journeymen, workers, new hires, etc., to update and improve knowledge, skills, techniques, methods, and procedures.
• You will disassemble, assemble, modify, overhaul, prototype, modify, and repair of production cell operation of aircraft ordnance, seats, canopies, CADs, fire bottles, guns, TLX and SMDC lines, and other ordnance systems and components.
• You will diagnose technical issues revealed by inspection and tests to determine the extent of adjustment and repair requirements.
• You will use hand and powered tools and precision measuring equipment as well as operate ground support and prescribed test equipment.
• You will identify and verify incoming product and material for proper documentation and configuration.
• You will order and replace prescribed parts.
• You will check dimensions and tolerance of components to determine the serviceability and making corrections as necessary.
• You perform leader duties in addition to performing non-supervisory work.
• You will distribute portions of the work in such a manner to keep everyone in the crew productive.
• You will check work in progress and when finished to see whether the supervisor's instructions on work sequence procedures, methods, and deadlines were met.
• You will ensure that safety, tool control, foreign object damage (FOO), Hazmat, and housekeeping rules are followed.
• You will provide technical assistance to personnel working on overhaul and repair tasks.
• You will investigate technical problems affecting production and apply corrective action.
• You will accomplish other duties as assigned.

• You will be required to utilize personal protective equipment that commensurate with assigned work tasks.
• You may be exposed to dirt, noise, moisture, fumes, and aircraft exhaust.
• Work may be performed outside and during inclement weather.
• This position may be subject to handling hazardous waste materials.
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain required level(s) of certification and/or training.

The Screen-out Element for this position is and includes tasks such as: 1) Demonstrating working knowledge of the operating principles, functions, and technical orientation of aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, pneudraulic, environmental systems, subsystems, accessories, components, seats, canopies, guns, and other ordnance related items; (2) Assessing damaged aircrafts and conducting aircraft systems and subsystems troubleshooting and fault isolation; (3) Utilizing organizational computer-based business applications and inputting data to record discrepancies, create work orders, research material, order material, research product specifications, and produce documents beneficial to an aircraft production environment; (4) Applying trade techniques and practices, explaining safety precautions, and giving instructions to train journeymen and workers, for the purpose of updating and improving their knowledge, skills, techniques, methods, and procedures; and (4) Reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical-manuals to accomplish aircraft repairs and other assigned work tasks.
