Job Description
- You will be required to use computer equipment and specialized web-based law enforcement programs to establish, update, query or print individual or vehicle registration and other law enforcement sensitive information.
- You will respond to and conduct preliminary investigations relating to critical incidents, e.g. traffic accidents, domestic violence, assaults, sexual assaults, child abuse/neglect, as required.
- You will interview witnesses, take statements, secure crime scenes, seizes and protect evidence, draft reports, and create incident diagrams.
- You will testify as required in Federal, Military, State/County/Municipal and administrative court proceedings.
- You will be required to conduct ongoing investigations of incidents ranging from simple rules violation to felon and capital crimes within prescribed limitations.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to attend the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniform Police Training Program (UPTP), if you have not previously attended and have not had a break from performing duties as a police officer.
- You must be able to use all police equipment, certify in the use of radar detection and alcohol detection equipment, field sobriety tests, expandable/collapsible baton and obtain certifications to accomplish the duties of a law enforcement officer.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Issuing citations in violation of law enforcement regulations; 2) Conducting investigations related to critical incidents i.e., traffic accidents, domestic violence, assaults, child abuse/neglect) in accordance to policies and procedures; 3) Interviewing witnesses to gather information about incidents; and 4) Conducting inspections of vehicles to detect the unauthorized removal of classified material, government property, contraband, weapons, explosives or any items detrimental to security.

This position requires rotating shift work.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
