Quality Assurance Engineer

is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support an Intelligence Community mission-critical modernization program based in . This position is a full-time role that will be . This role requires extensive expertise in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications, user interface validation, accessibility compliance, test automation, and enterprise system integrations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a highly regulated government environment.

• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies for system upgrades, enhancements, and new functionality.
• Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• Conduct user interface (UI) validation and cross-browser compatibility testing.
• Execute manual testing for complex business workflows and system scenarios.
• Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions to improve system quality.

• Validate system compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements and security controls.
• Ensure adherence to Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.
• Evaluate enterprise applications operating within Windows Server environments.
• Verify data protection measures and secure application functionality.

• Design, develop, and maintain UI automation frameworks to support regression testing efforts.
• Perform API testing for backend services, including Apache Solr and RESTful APIs.
• Integrate automated test suites into GitLab CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and quality assurance.
• Manage defects through tracking systems and coordinate issue resolution with development teams.

• Test Apache Tomcat application server deployments, upgrades, and configurations.
• Validate Oracle 19c database integrations, data exchanges, and system performance.
• Test SAP Business Intelligence reporting interfaces, dashboards, and reports.
• Ensure a seamless and consistent user experience across all modernized platform components.

• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, system administrators, and security teams.
• Document test procedures, test results, defects, risks, and quality metrics.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations regarding system readiness and release quality.
• Participate in design reviews, sprint activities, and quality assurance planning sessions.

• 13+ years of experience in Systems, Information Technology, Software Quality Assurance, or a closely related field with similar scope and responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's Degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience.
  • Master's Degree may substitute for up to 6 years of experience.
• Extensive experience performing functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• Strong expertise in UI testing, user interface validation, and cross-browser compatibility testing.
• Proven experience with UI automation frameworks and manual testing methodologies.
• Experience with defect tracking and issue management systems.
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements and government compliance standards.
• Experience performing accessibility testing in accordance with Section 508 and WCAG standards.
• Experience testing enterprise solutions hosted in Windows Server environments.
• Hands-on experience testing Apache Tomcat application servers.
• Experience validating Oracle 19c database integrations and data flows.
• Experience testing SAP Business Intelligence reporting solutions.
• API testing experience with RESTful services and Apache Solr.
• Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies and GitLab pipelines.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in regulated environments.

• $165,000 - $220,000 *Multiple Labor Categories available - will commensurate with experience*
