Position Summary
The Record Searcher supports federal background investigations by conducting comprehensive record searches and compiling investigative information into Reports of Investigation (ROIs) in accordance with customer requirements, federal regulations, and contract standards. This position performs both online and in-person record retrieval activities involving law enforcement agencies, courts, educational institutions, employers, healthcare providers, and other relevant sources.
The Record Searcher is responsible for obtaining, analyzing, documenting, and reporting information critical to the background investigation process while ensuring compliance with quality, timeliness, and production requirements.
Security Clearance: Active favorable adjudicated T5, T5R or HT
DHS experience highly desired
Flexible work location, Remote-friendly

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct online and in-person record searches at law enforcement agencies, courthouses, educational institutions, employers, healthcare providers, and other authorized sources.
- Retrieve and verify records pertinent to federal background investigations.
- Conduct database searches utilizing approved investigative systems and resources.
- Compile findings into clear, concise, and comprehensive Reports of Investigation (ROIs).
- Ensure all investigative documentation complies with government standards, guidelines, and policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and properly safeguard sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII).
- Meet established quality, timeliness, and production standards.
- Respond promptly to requests for additional information or case clarification.
- Collaborate with reviewers, investigators, and management to ensure complete and accurate case documentation.
