About the Role
We are a growing government contractor, and our small but high-performing recruiting team needs a full life cycle Recruiter to help us find, engage, and close talent as the company scales. This role owns the candidate journey end-to-end - from sourcing and initial outreach through screening, interview coordination, offer, and negotiation - working seamless with our team to build a stronger, more proactive pipeline rather than just reacting to open requisitions.
What You'll Do
Collaboration & Preparation
- Partner closely with the recruiting and hiring teams to understand role requirements, ideal candidate profiles, and sourcing strategy for open positions.
- Develop comprehensive job requisitions and descriptions, ensuring clarity in job duties and responsibilities.
- Define intake expectations with hiring managers up front, including must-have qualifications, interview process, decision criteria, and a timeline for feedback and selection.
Sourcing & Pipeline Development
- Create role-specific sourcing plans that identify target candidate pools, search strings, outreach messaging, referral opportunities, and priority channels for each requisition.
- Proactively source and identify candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, ClearanceJobs, Indeed, referrals, and other channels, building a consistent pipeline for current and anticipated openings
- Conduct initial outreach to passive and active candidates, generating interest in open roles
- Maintain organized, up-to-date candidate pipelines in our ATS (Breezy), ensuring nothing goes stale or falls through the cracks
- Build and maintain talent pools for roles that are recurring or are anticipated on future contracts, so the team isn't starting from zero each time
Screening & Candidate Management
- Screen candidates for qualifications, fit, and interest, and manage them through each stage of the hiring process
- Use consistent screening criteria and interview notes to evaluate candidates against role requirements, capture risks or gaps, and share clear recommendations with hiring teams.
- Own communication with candidates throughout their journey, providing a professional and responsive experience
- Maintain organized, up-to-date candidate and requisition records in the ATS, including screening notes, stage movement, and next steps for each active candidate.
Selection & Offer
- Facilitate hiring manager and team interviews and proactively collect interview feedback on candidates
- Negotiate with candidates, and then prepare and extend offers
- Support offer acceptance by maintaining candidate engagement, addressing questions, coordinating timely approvals, and partnering with internal stakeholders to keep the process moving.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Provide visibility into pipeline health and sourcing activity so the team can plan ahead of hiring needs rather than reacting to them
- Flag opportunities to improve or streamline sourcing and early-stage screening processes
What You Bring
Required
- 2+ years of experience in recruiting, sourcing, or a related talent acquisition role
- Comfort proactively reaching out to and engaging candidates, including passive candidates who aren't actively job-hunting
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple open pipelines simultaneously
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting
- Experience using an applicant tracking system (ATS); Breezy experience a plus
Preferred
- Experience in government contracting recruiting or sourcing, to include military experience/veteran status
- Familiarity with sourcing for cleared or special operations-adjacent roles
- Experience sourcing in a high-volume or fast-turnaround hiring environment
What Success Looks Like
- We have a pipeline of consistently warm candidates rather than starting sourcing from scratch for each new requisition
- Hiring surges (e.g., ramping up quickly for a new contract award) are supported by a healthy, pre-built pipeline rather than a scramble
- Talent pools exist for recurring or anticipated roles, reducing time-to-fill over time
- We have continuous improvement in our time-to-fill metric
