Job Description



  • Maintain and update the SARSAT Program Security Plan and associated security documentation.
  • Coordinate security inputs with U.S. Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain the SARSAT risk registry, including risk statements, impacts, probability, mitigation strategies, owners, schedules, and status.
  • Develop or support security-related cost estimates, cost-benefit analyses, mitigation options, schedules, milestones, and decision products.
  • Support classified meetings, threat and vulnerability discussions, security reviews, program briefings, and responses to sensitive information requirements.
  • Maintain controlled security records, meeting materials, action items, technical documentation, and recurring reports.
  • Respond to Government requests for discussion or resolution of security-related issues within four hours during required business hours.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable security, information-handling, facility-access, and classified-program requirements




  • United States citizenship.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Active Secret security clearance and ability to maintain required access throughout performance.
  • At least five years of experience in program security management, incident management, emergency management, or closely related work.
  • Demonstrated experience in security planning, risk assessment, federal policy compliance, and coordination with interagency or classified programs.
  • Experience preparing security plans, risk registries, status reports, briefings, cost estimates, or mitigation analyses.
  • Strong analytical, technical writing, coordination, and briefing skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and classified information through approved systems, facilities, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

Certification Expectation
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or;
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP)




  • Relevant security, risk management, emergency management, or project management certification, as contemplated by the PWS.
  • Prior experience supporting SARSAT, Cospas-Sarsat, space systems, satellite communications, search and rescue, or cyber-threat programs.
  • Experience coordinating with National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, or U.S. Air Force stakeholders.
  • Experience with classified risk assessments, security cost-benefit analysis, and integrated schedules.
