Job Description
DevSecOps Specialist-Journeyman
Full Time | Remote | Secret Clearance required
Our Platform Engineering team owns and operates the Kubernetes clusters running on OCI, as well as the developer tooling that supports DMDC and its 200+ applications. We provide CI/CD pipeline infrastructure, support application deployments, and host tooling for the broader DMDC user base (GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, and Rancher / RKE2, SonarQube, etc.) while continuously strengthening the organization’s DevSecOps practices and high availability. On the team you will split your time between operational ownership of the current platform (incident response, service requests, reliability improvements, and cloud migration support) and engineering work that uses these operational insights to automate, standardize, and scale delivery. Initially we would integrate you into the team coordinating and managing the O&M Operation queue of requests and changes that need to be made to the tools and platform. Over the next years, you could transition to independent development of enhancements and automation.
Responsibilities:
· The management and execution of the ITSM queue supporting incidents, requests, and changes at a Tier 3 level with a 4-6 people operations team. Coordinate cross-functionally with teams including application teams, migration, observability, defense ops, and incident response.
· Build automated GitLab CI/CD pipelines to deploy and test new versions for a host of supported tools and application base images.
· Identify, scope, and implement infrastructure changes and automations though agile sprints that need to be made to increase platform stability.
· Identify gaps in operations documentation and work with engineers on the team to build useful guides.
· Implement new enhancements and automations to support best practice DevSecOps processes and cloud infrastructure. .
Qualifications:
· Secret security clearance.
· A Security+ certification (can be taken while onboarding).
· Direct experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and pipeline automation
· A understanding of cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and DevSecOps principles for development communities.
· Familiarity with the ELK Stack or other comparable monitoring tools
Preferred Qualifications:
· Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab / GitLab Runners, Nexus, Cloud managed services, AI dev assist capabilities, and Rancher/RKE2.
· Familiarity with ServiceNow and Jira.
· Familiarity with other tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, TestRail, ArgoCD, and Renovate.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
· Cloud certifications form AWS, Azure, or OCI
· Basic scripting and automation skills.
