Job Description

Amentum is seeking a skilled to support engineering, installation, and maintenance efforts in Groton, CT. The successful candidate will provide technical evaluation and perform required corrective actions for AN/BYG-1 systems on submarines in accordance with DoD standards, Navy Maintenance Procedures, and Cyber System instructions. This role requires technical expertise to assist in the disassembly, reassembly, installation, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and overall operation of AN/BYG-1 systems in accordance with engineering specifications.

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with test and evaluation tasks; perform comprehensive validations and verifications of AN/BYG-1 systems.
- Assist in executing Engineering Change Instructions (ECI) and support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
- Develop and update technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, and operational procedures to drive maintainability improvements.
- Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, surveying, fabrication, and other specialized engineering tasks.
- Comply strictly with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications, and test procedures; review change proposals for potential equipment impacts.
- Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret Clearance.
- High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of practical experience, OR an applicable degree/formal electronics training combined with three (3) years of practical experience
- High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years of practical experience, OR an applicable degree/formal electronics training combined with six (6) years of practical experience
- Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, repairing networking equipment and Windows servers and workstations
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- US Military systems/network experience
- Direct, hands-on experience working with AN/BYG-1 Combat Systems
